Today’s mantra: (and this is a quote from my book), “When the approval of the tribe had pushed her toward complacency, she chose passion.” Recently my Mom cut out a David Brooks article (love him) in the NY Times called “Lady Gaga And the Life of Passion.” My mom drew a big smiley face on the newsprint and underlined this “But they often have a fervent curiosity about their inner natures and an unquenchable thirst to find some activity that they can pursue wholeheartedly, without reservation. They construct themselves inwardly by expressing themselves outwardly.” Next to it she jotted, “sounds like our girl.” Yep! A passion fueled life is not linear and it’s not simple, it confuses other people; but its bright and its expanded.
